Irish Community Christmas Party
Continuing a popular tradition from last year, the Irish Women’s Group organised a family Christmas lunch for members of all 4 Irish Community Groups in Bangkok. With all 4 sponsoring and in attendance, it was indeed our Bangkok family. The Ambassador put it best when he mentioned the people we meet far from home, who make our stay easier and friendlier.

Decorative entrance to Spice Market at Anantara Siam
This event brought the Christmas to friends and family alike, with a turkey dinner in a festive restaurant at Anantara Siam. Turkey, gravy and stuffing was served, along with some lighter salads. The dessert table was a pastel wonderland of Christmas trees atop cupcakes and a tropically delicious passionfruit log!
Kids colored and did made many versions of pom-pom photo frames while their parents caught up. After dinner, a surprise guests stole the show for the little ones. Santa braved the Thai heat to bring some presents, some tears and some indifference! For a few kids, it was their first time ever meeting Santa!
While we had one mishap with the koi pond, a group stayed in the atrium to continue the chats as the party ended.
Thank you to all who attended and to the Irish Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai GAA, and St.Patrick’s society for sponsoring.
Polaroids
We had good fun with the new old-school Polaroid camera. Each child who met santa got one to take away, and we took some more for good measure.
